Following an inquiry this Tuesday 20 August at the Horse Racing Division concerning the urine sample provided by jockey M. Ribeiro on race meeting 15, the brazilian jockey has been charged for contravening Rules 70.2.3, 80.1.19 and 80.1.34 by the Racing Stewards.
He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty as charged. M. Ribeiro has finally been disqualified for one year.
Rule 70.2.3 stupulates that ''A Jockey shall commit an offence if he attempts to interfere with, intimidate or mislead any Licensed Official or person who is designated to take his Sample or the Stipendiary Stewards;
Rule 80.1.19 stipulates that ''Without in any way derogating from the provisions of the Rules, no person shall commit, incite or conspire with anybody to commit any corrupt, fraudulent,
dishonest or prohibited practice in relation to the racing, breeding, buying and/or selling of Horses in any country;
Rule 80.1.34 stipulates that ''Without in any way derogating from the provisions of the Rules, no person shall tamper or interfere with a Sample;
