Brazilian jockey M Ribeiro disqualified for 10 months (cocaine in urine sample)

Following an inquiry at the Horse Racing Division this Friday 23 August concerning cocaine found in his urine sample provided on RM 15, jockey M Marcos Ribeiro has been charged by the Racing Stipes for contravening Rule 70.2.1. He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty as charged. And has therefore been disqualified for 10 months.

Rule 70.2.1 stipulates that ''A Jockey shall commit an offence if any aample of blood, breath, hair or urine taken from him contains a banned substance.''
