Stewards Reports 1. Leaving the stalls, CRACKON (A. Roy) jumped sideways. 2. PROFICIENT (J. Allyhosain) jumped sideways, bumped GOLD LINING (N. Marday) who in turn bumped with JET ORBIT (B. Sooful) which thereafter brushed with TARTARUS (S. Rama). Shortly after, PROFICIENT stumbled which resulted in Jockey J. Allyhosain losing his right stirrup which he regained shortly. 3. Near the 50m, CRACKON (A. Roy) was eased off the heels of PROFICIENT (J. Allyhosain). 4. Jockey A. Roy (CRACKON) appeared before the Board in relation the jump out of his horse. Jockey A. Roy advised that CRACKON took a sideway start from the gate itself and he did not have enough time to correct his horse. He added that being a 990m race, he did not want to restrain his horse in any manner in order that the chances of his horse are prejudiced. However, he did not cause any interference to any other horse at the start. 5. Jockey J. Allyhosain (PROFICIENT) appeared before the Board in relation to his riding in the race, despite a disadvantageous start, when he appeared to have not covered the ground on BADAWEE (R. Oodith) between the 700m to the 300m. Jockey J. Allyhosain advised that after the bad start, he gave his horse a chance and let him stride on its own and he intended to ride his horse after the crossing at 450m. An inquiry will be opened into his ride in this race. 6. Jockey S. Rama (TARTARUS) appeared before the Board in relation to his riding between the 850m and the 600m, when from a three wide position, he brought his horse back behind runners to be along the rails. Jockey S. Rama advised that he could not have ridden and positioned his horse in front of PROFICIENT or alongside the latter, therefore he elected to bring his horse back and take the rail position so as to not cover additional ground which would have been the case if he was on the outside of PROFICIENT since the bend starts from the 600m until the 300m. After holding a review into Jockey S. Rama’s riding of TARTARUS, the Stewards decided not to pursue the matter further.

General 1. Prior to the running of this race, Trainer Y. Perdrau advised the Board that his instructions to Jockey N. Marday were to ride BEECHURST with an intention to lead. This change of tactic was disseminated to the public.
Starting Reports 1. Leaving the stalls, BEECHURST (N. Marday), PATH TO FORTUNE (J. Allyhosain) and PETECA (S. Rama) brushed.
Stewards Reports 1. BEECHURST (N Marday) after a slow start, was ridden to take the lead passing the 1300m. 2. Near the 1200m, PETECA (S. Rama) was momentarily eased off the heel of BEECHURST (N. Marday) which shifted in to be along the rails. Accordingly, Jockey N. Marday was issued with a reprimand.
3. Jockey S. Rama (PETECA) elected to bring his horse from behind of BEECHURST (N Marday) from the 1000m due to the slow pace in front and was placed on the outside of BEECHURST. 4. PATH TO FORTUNE (J. Allyhosain) was held up for a run between the 350m to 300m.

Marday) near the 800m and he was advised to be more careful while shifting ground in races considering that his horse was racing green in the race. 3. Jockey A Roy (NINOTTO) was queried in relation to his riding in the straight as he appeared to be racing behind TROJAN QUEST instead of giving his horse a clear run. The
Jockey advised that his horse had a tendency to hang-in and he intended to take the room on the inside of TROJAN QUEST before shifting his horse out. The explanation was noted.

General 1. CREATION (A. Roy) arrived at the starting gates late which resulted in a delay in the start of the race.

Stewards Reports 1. AENEAS (S. Rama) was eased while racing on the inside of CREATION (A. Roy) due to reduced gap between CREATION and the rails. 2. Near the 1600m, AENEAS (S. Rama) was eased off the heels of PADDINGTONS LUCK (J. Allyhosain).
3. Passing the 1600m, PADDINGTONS LUCK (J. Allyhosain) shifted in and took the running of CREATION (A. Roy) which clipped the heels of the former and stumbled. Jockey J. Allyhosain signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 43.2.2 in that as the rider of the horse PADDINGTONS LUCK, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CREATION (A. Roy) passing the 1600m. A suspension from riding in races for a period of one race meeting was imposed. 4. AENEAS (S. Rama) ran unsettled during the race. 5. Jockey N. Marday was found guilty of contravention of Rule 29.2.5 in that he struck the horse FOREIGN FIELD with his whip more than once on consecutive strides in the running. 6. Jockey J. Allyhosain (PADDINGTONS LUCK) appeared before the Board in relation to the performance of his horse. Whilst viewing the patrol films, Jockey J. Allyhosain advised that PADDINGTONS LUCK runs better when in front however, in this race he could not be in front since CREATION (A. Roy) took the lead and when CREATION passed his horse on the outside, his horse became keen and then from the 600m, PADDINGTONS LUCK had nothing to give. In view of the performance of PADDINGTONS LUCK, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine and sample the horse.

Stewards Reports 1. In view of the Starting Report, the starting stall certificate for SEATTLE WEST (N. Marday) has been withdrawn. This horse has been suspended by the Stipendiary Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. 2. Jockey A. Roy (RAISETHEREDLANTERN) was referred to the Course Medical Officer who stood him down for race 8. 3. Jockey N. Marday was found guilty for a contravention of Rule 29.2.5 in that he struck the horse SEATTLE WEST with his whip more than once on consecutive strides in the running. Subsequently, he signed an admission of guilt for a combined penalty of a fine of Rs 3,000 for the contravention of Rule 29.2.5 in race 4 (FOREIGN FIELD) and this race.

Genaral 1. Prior to the running of this race, Trainer A. Sewdyal advised the Board that his instructions to Jockey S. Rama were to ride LINE OF DUTY with the intention to lead. This change of tactic was disseminated to the public.
Starting Reports 1. Stall 3 was slow to open, however, no prejudice was caused to the start taken by LINE OF DUTY (S Rama). The Starter, J.P. Aumaitre, appeared before the Board and was shown the patrol films of the race and was advised accordingly. 2. LITTLE BUOY (N. Marday) was slow, losing considerable ground. 3. LEAD DRUMMER (S. Bhundoo) hesitated at the start.
Stewards Reports 1. In view of the Starting Report, the starting stall certificate for LITTLE BUOY (N. Marday) has been withdrawn. This horse has been suspended by the Stipendiary Stewards for seven days after which, it will be required to complete a jump out in a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. 2. Segeon (GONNABEALRIGHT) appeared before the Board and viewed the patrol film of the race in the straight and then decided not to take any further action in the matter. 3. MENELAUS (B. Bhaugeerothee) was hanging in, in the straight. 4. Jockey S. Rama (LINE OF DUTY) and Trainer A. Sewdyal appeared before the Board in relation to the riding of the Jockey in the early stages of the race when it appeared that leaving the 1500m, Jockey S. Rama, after a slow start, allowed his horse to move forward and take the lead near the 1300m. Jockey S. Rama advised that the horse being a puller, he did not want to fight with LINE OF DUTY and let it roll at its own pace and the reason for electing to do so was the reduction of the pace by the leader, GONNABEALRIGHT (C. Segeon), which resulted in MENELAUS (B. Bhaugeerothee) losing pace and as he was following MENELAUS at that stage, he elected to move out from behind of MENELAUS to allow his horse to race along. Trainer A. Sewdyal concurred with the statements of Jockey S. Rama and expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the Jockey to not fight with his horse and allow it to roll along.
