600m and was then pulled out of the race. Apprentice C. Veerappen reported that his saddle
slipped forward which was confirmed by an Official. This ride will not be considered a
qualifying ride.
4. CYBOTIX (G. Aucharuz) was hanging in, in the straight. Jockey G. Aucharuz appeared
before the Stipendiary Stewards in relation to his riding in the straight. He apprised that
after balancing his horse, when in the straight, it commenced to hang in and he had to
balance his horse again, change his whip hand and get an effort from CYBOTIX which was
apparent on the footage. The Board noted the explanation of Jockey G. Aucharuz.

1. Prior to the running of this race, Trainer S. P. Mootien apprised the Board that his
instructions to Jockey P. Horil were not to rush WHIPPING BOY to the front. This change
of tactic was disseminated to the public.

1. Leaving the stall, FUTURE APPROACH (M. Sonaram) was tightened for room and lost
ground.

2. Trainer S. Hurchund appeared before the Board in relation to the improved performance of
TECHNO SAVVY (B. Soodoo) from its previous start. In this regard, he explained that
TECHNO SAVVY had worked well during training and was running in a lower benchmark,
competing over a longer distance this time, however, he had not fancied the horse to win.
While balancing all these factors, the Board noted the explanation of Trainer S. Hurchund.
3. TECHNO SAVVY (B. Soodoo) was wide in the final turn.

1. The race was delayed due to the ambulance not being present at the start.

Starting Reports
1. HARDFALLINGRAIN (C. Veerappen) jumped awkwardly, shifted in and went across
CULTURE TRIP (K. Ramsamy) which was marginally slow and thereafter brushed
UNITED PRINCE (C. Segeon).

1. MASSIMO (R. Joorawon) was eased and dropped out of the race near 100m.
2. Apprentice C. Veerappen (HARDFALLINGRAIN) appeared before the Board in relation
to the jump out, was shown the patrol films of the race and he informed that his right foot
was not properly settled in his stirrup iron when his horse was stalled which resulted in him
being unbalanced at the jump, having less control over his horse. The Starter, J. P.
Aumaitre, will be advised accordingly.
3. Apprentice C. Veerappen (HARDFALLINGRAIN) also appeared before the Board in
relation to him losing third position. Apprentice C. Veerappen signed an admission of guilt
for a contravention of Rule 43.2.7 in that he failed to ensure that he rides
HARDFALLINGRAIN out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary
Stewards and prejudicing his chances of obtaining third position. Accordingly, a penalty of
a suspension from riding in races for one race meeting was imposed.

out at 60kg. In this regard, he appeared before the Board and he was advised that he should
accept rides as close to the handicapped weight as possible.

1. While proceeding to the gates, WORLD'S BEST (M. Sonaram) dislodged its rider whereby
Jockey M. Sonaram became unfit to ride and the horse was accordingly withdrawn.
2. ROYAL VIRTUE (B. Bhaugeerothee) reared up behind the gates and fell, injuring Jockey
B. Bhaugeerothee and the horse was accordingly withdrawn.
3. The tongue tie on FULL BLAST (P. Horil) was reapplied.
4. All the above incidents resulted in the race being delayed.

corrective measures to prevent his horse from shifting ground in races.
3. NOURBESE (J. Allyhosain) was eased momentarily near the 200m as TWIST OF FATE
(C. Segeon) weakened and lost position.
4. Jockeys B. Bhaugeerothee (ROYAL VIRTUE) and M. Sonaram (WORLD'S BEST) were
examined by the Course Medical Officer who stood them down for the remainder of the
race meeting.
5. An inquiry has been opened into Jockey C. Segeon’s (TWIST OF FATE) whip use.

Stewards Reports
1. SERGEI (R. Boutanive) was carried out by GIGGIN (R. Joorawon) due to the rail position
at the 1750m.
2. Jockey J. Allyhosain (CLEAN SLATE) appeared before the Board in relation to his riding
between the 350m and the 200m where he was observed to be passive in his riding and
having an option to follow BACKPACKER (G. Aucharuz). Jockey J. Allyhosain informed
that leaving the 450m, his intention was to go on the outside of BACKPACKER. However,
when he saw BACKPACKER being ridden further wide, he decided to maintain his running
line on the inside of BACKPACKER and wanted to wait for an opportunity at the top of
the straight when usually the horses fan out. When queried for not opting to follow
BACKPACKER in the running, he said that in that case, he would have travelled more
wider instead of a possibility of finding a run between horses. In the straight, when Jockey
J. Allyhosain had an opportunity to ride in his anticipative manner, GIGGIN (R. Joorawon)
shifted in and closed the gap and thereafter, he had ridden his horse. The Board noted the
explanations of Jockey J. Allyhosain.
3. SERGEI (R. Boutanive) was eased briefly passing the 300m.
4. Passing the 200m, TOMORROW'S VISION (N. Batchameah) dropped out abruptly from
the race. The horse was referred for Veterinary examination.

1. SPY MASTER (J. Allyhosain) played up violently in its stalls and was off loaded and
examined by the Veterinary Surgeon prior to being reloaded.

Starting Reports

Jockey G. Aucharuz.
2. RAISETHEREDLANTERN (R. Boutanive) jumped sideways to the outside, causing DO
OR DARE (A. Correira Da Silva) to shift out which tightened SAN ANDREAS (B. Sooful)
who went on MASTER POINT (G. Aucharuz) which had also jumped awkwardly inwards.

1. Near 150m, MASTER POINT (G. Aucharuz) hung in.
2. MASTERFUL GUY (N. Batchameah) was eased in the straight due to lack of room as
MASTER POINT (G. Aucharuz) hung in.
3. SAN ANDREAS (B. Sooful) had a tendency to hang in, in the straight.
4. A review was called in the start of the race followed by an inquiry with Jockey G. Aucharuz
(MASTER POINT) and Owner, Mr. D. Damry, who appeared before the Board and wanted
to watch the footage of the start of the race. Jockey G. Aucharuz informed that he was not
ready when the start was effected as MASTER POINT was leaning to the right side of the
stall, brushed the gate which resulted in him losing his balance and he could have got
dislodged from the horse. After considering the evidence from the Starter, the Chief
handler, two other handlers and the Veterinary Surgeon as also from the Owner and the
Jockey, and having watched the video footage repeatedly, the Board decided to declare
MATERPOINT a runner.
