General 1. Before the running of this race, the 990m camera was not working and the head on camera was in an alternate setting. These two issues were raised with the Mauritius Broadcasting Cooperation and were corrected before the running of the second race.
Starting Reports 1. HUDSON RIVER (J. Sophie) and INAUGURATION (M. Sonaram), which bumped leaving stalls, lost one length, respectively. 2. MASTEROFALLISURVEY (J. Allyhosain) was slow into stride.
Stewards Reports 1. The start of the race was reviewed pertaining to SPOTTED PEARL (S. Donohoe) drawn in stall gate 1. In this regard, it was established that this gate opened fractionally later than the others. However, when assessing this incident, the Board took note that this gelding did not suffer any prejudice as a consequence of this issue and had jumped on terms with the field. The matter was drawn to the attention of the Starter, Mr R. Rawa and the necessary measures were requested to be taken. 2. INAUGURATION (M. Sonaram) was baulked for a clear run between the 400m and the 300m. 3. THE HITMAN (K. Ramsamy) was hanging in from the 300m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 4. The saddle of HUDSON RIVER (J. Sophie) slipped forward in the running. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Stewards on the viewing of the footage. 5. In view of the performance of MASTEROFALLISURVEY (J. Allyhosain), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 6.Apprentice C. Goolgar (SPIRITUAL WIND) and Jockey M.Rashpassing (NAO FAZ MAL) appeared before the Board, were shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of using the whip more than once on consecutive strides in the running. Apprentice C. Goolgar and Jockey M.Rashpassing were issued with a warning.
7. Apprentice N. Batchameah (SOCKEROO) appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of using his whip more than 7 times before the 150m. Apprentice N. Batchameah was issued with a warning. Additionally, Apprentice N. Batchameah signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 29.2.15, in that he used his whip down the shoulder of SOCKEROO, whilst in the drawn position. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of Rs 3,500 was imposed on him. 8. After observing that a handler was not clear of the horses as the gates were opened, the Stipendiary Stewards reminded Starter R. Rawa of his obligation to ensure that all handlers are clear of the gates prior to effecting the start. Notwithstanding this incident, the Board was satisfied that no runner was impeded by this incident.

1. At the 900m, SUPREME ELEVATION (R. Kulloo) shifted out when awkwardly placed in respect of the running rail. In reaction to this movement, LE QUARTIER (I. Taka) was momentarily inconvenienced, took a hold, shifted out and carried out CHESTNUT COVE (J. Allyhosain). Additionally, the saddle of SUPREME ELEVATION slipped forward in the running. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Stewards during the viewing of the footage.In light of this being another ride with a delayed correction from Apprentice R. Kulloo, the Stipendiary Stewards are in the opinion that his performance cannot be considered as a qualified ride. Therefore, Apprentice R. Kulloo has been suspended by the Stipendiary Stewards, until satisfactorily completing an approved apprentice program. 2. Starter R. Rawa appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised that in the event that the false rails available were unsuitable (as explained by him), he ought to mitigate this impact by loading the horses further out. Additionally, the Clerk of the Course, Mr. J. Sampson, will be made aware of this issue and requested to resolve such prior to the next race meeting.
